May 8, 2013 – Open SDD Surgery (Left Hip)

On May 8, 2013, I had an Open Surgical Dislocation and Debriedment (a SDD for short) on my left hip at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC.

Please check out the link at the top of the page “How it works — Open Surgical Dislocation (SDD)” or click HERE for more information on how a SDD surgery works.

Why not just get a Total Hip Replacement?

Like a PAO, a SDD preserves and enhances the patient’s own hip joint rather than replacing it with an artificial part.
